As of last week, it was unknown what exactly Britney Spears' "All Eyes On Me" countdown on her official website was set for. On Sept. 5, Spears announced that at 9:30 a.m., she will appear on "Good Morning America." But, even that appearance was mysterious. Rumors swirled that Spears would either perform a new single, announce new album or share news about an alleged Las Vegas residency.
Though the "GMA" appearance's purpose is unknown, it's more and more likely that Spears will perform her new song "Work Bitch" on the morning talk show. On Sept. 10, Spears announced the radio and iTunes release date for "Work Bitch" -- the first single from her new, untitled eighth album -- and the day lines up with her TV guest spot.
"Work Bitch is going to premiere WORLDWIDE this Monday, Sept 16th at 6 pm ET. You can listen on @iHeartRadio or your local radio station," Spears wrote on her official Twitter account. "Work Bitch will be available on @iTunesMusic that night at 12:01am ET, Sept 17th... are u ready? #YouBettaWorkB #1Week."
The news of the new single from Spears isn't particularly surprising. Over the weekend, she had been filming a music video for "Work Bitch," as teased by some sexy bikini photos.
"Work Bitch" is likely the lead single from Spears' upcoming eighth studio album. A release date or official title has not been announced for the follow up to 2011's "Femme Fatale." However, Spears has teased on her Instagram account that the album will be for her most dedicated fans and will be a mix of her previous seven efforts.
Spears announced in an interview with Ryan Seacrest that her next album should be released before the end of 2013.
With the combined news of a new single, upcoming album and a "Good Morning America" appearance, it seems as though all eyes will, in fact, be on Britney Spears once again.
