Rock band The Killers have announced a best-of compilation album after much speculation from fans today (Sept. 16). According to NME, “Direct Hits” will be released in the UK and Europe on Nov. 11. It’ll hit America the following day on Nov. 12.
Comprised of 15 songs, “Direct Hits” will span the entire career of The Killers from their breakthrough hit “Somebody Told Me” to songs from their latest album “Battle Born,” such as “Miss Atomic Bomb” and “Runaways.”
Most excitingly, The Killers’ compilation album will also feature two new songs, “Shot at the Night” and “Just Another Girl.” To help get fans pumped for “Direct Hits,” the band released the full audio for “Shot at the Night.”
The song blends together The Killers’ recognizable Bruce Springsteen-inspired indie rock sound from their post-“Sam’s Town” days and their mid-tempo maturity from “Battle Born.” It’s not necessarily the exciting lead single The Killers need to push a best-of album, but hardcore fans will likely be pleased with any new offering from the band.
