There’s bad news for “American Idol” season 12 winner Candice Glover. Her debut album, “Music Speaks,” has had its release date pushed back from Oct. 8 to February of next year, according to Billboard.
It seems like the album delays are due to Glover’s desire to perfection in the studio. “I know it’s taking a bit longer than expected to get my album out, but I have been working hard in the studio with some amazing people, and I want to get it just right for you guys!” she said in a press release to the website.
This is just the latest release delay for “Music Speaks,” which was reportedly originally due in July. Before the announcement of a February 2014 release date, the album was due out next week on Oct. 8.
Despite the setbacks, Glover seems upbeat about the new release date of her album. Though vague, yesterday (Sept. 29), she tweeted “Tomorrow is a very exciting day :) stay tuned!” making it seem as though she does not mind the news of an album delay.
Glover won the 12th season of “American Idol” in May over runner-up Kree Harrison. She was the first woman to win “Idol” since Jordin Sparks in 2007. Glover released her debut single and coronation song “I Am Beautiful” following her win, to moderate success.
