In no real surprise, Drake's new album "Nothing Was The Same" has topped the Billboard 200 upon its debut. According to Billboard, Drizzy absolutely slayed the competition and had the second best album sales week of the year.

Last week, it was predicted that "Nothing Was The Same" would sell between 675,000 and 725,000 copies. He failed to reach that goal but still marked the week with an impressive 658,000 units sold. The 26-year-old Canadian rapper has established that he can run with the big dogs with this new album.

In 2013, only Justin Timberlake's first album in seven years, "The 20/20 Experience" has outsold him. Timberlake sold an astonishing 968,000 copies in his album's first week.

The release of "Nothing Was The Same" marks the best sales week for Drake to date and his third No. 1 album in the United States. His last record, "Take Care" sold 631,000 albums in its first week, and his debut "Thank Me Later" sold 447,000 copies in 2010.

As mentioned, Drake had the No. 1 album by a long shot. According to Hits Daily Double, Southern rockers Kings Of Leon's new record, "Mechanical Bull" debuted at No. 2, selling 115,000 albums. This is the second No. 2 album for Kings Of Leon, whose last album "Come Around Sundown" also peaked in the second spot. Their breakout album, 2008's "Only By The Night" only reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
