REVIEW Miley Cyrus 'Bangerz' Deluxe Edition LEAK on Tumbr: 'Rooting For My Baby,' 'On My Own,' 'Hands in the Air' Add Different Elements to New Album from 'Wrecking Ball' Singer [LISTEN]

Less than a week remains until the release of Miley Cyrus’ highly anticipated album “Bangerz.” Though the full standard version of the album can be heard on iTunes, the three bonus tracks for the album: “Rooting For My Baby,” “On My Own” and “Hands in the Air” (featuring Ludacris) have leaked.

The first track, “Rooting For My Baby” falls in line with album opener “Adore You” and “My Darlin’” from the standard edition of “Bangerz.” Produced by Pharrell Williams and written by Cyrus and him, the track adds different, chilled out vibes to “Bangerz.” As love song, the track takes on a slow, shuffling instrumentation. Cyrus’ vocals are soft in the track, although they’re slightly shaky. Amidst the epic ballads and attempted club hits, “Rooting For My Baby” was likely a little to sleepy for the standard edition of the album.

“On My Own,” also produced by Williams has more of the “Get Lucky” singer’s trademark. Disco beats and powerful, angry words from Cyrus are shockingly reminiscent of Michael Jackson. “I can do anything / Yeah, and I’ll do it on my own,” she sings on the empowered anthem. Compared to other break up anthems on “Bangerz,” “On My Own” finds a sense of strength in Cyrus not seen elsewhere, and the high production value makes this one a true banger in the classical sense.

The final track from “Bangerz” features Cyrus going out on a strong note. “Hands In My Air” (featuring Ludacris). The track is a slow burning party anthem, much like “Bangerz” lead single “We Can’t Stop.” Unlike that track, which had minimal instrumentation and relaxed vocals from Cyrus, this one blasts power, and does so effectively. As an album closer, it leaves listeners hanging, and the original version’s “Someone Else” is a little stronger.

"Bangerz" is the fourth studio album for Miley Cyrus. The record will officially be released Tuesday, Oct. 8.
