Miley Cyrus' new album "Bangerz" is out today (Oct. 8), and the occasion marks a new era for the former "Hannah Montana" star. "Bangerz" is marked mostly by the controversial antics of Cyrus, from her first single "We Can't Stop" and its drug referencing lyrics to her twerking antics at the VMAs to her naked "Wrecking Ball" music video. It's all enough to raise a father's eyebrow.
However, Cyrus' father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has stood by his daughter, and has made the proclamation that he feels he's done his job right, and that's all because of Miley's happiness. On Twitter yesterday (Oct. 7), Billy Ray tweeted, "Wanna know how I feel as a Father? Just heard my daughter say @MileyCyrus 'I'm the happiest I've ever been in my whole life.' All I ever wanted."
Miley's happiness not only comes from her "Bangerz" era but mostly comes in the wake of her split from ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Following months of cheating and break up rumors, the "Last Kiss" couple finally called it quits in September. Though Miley has not publicly addressed the split, she's kept moving and promoting "Wrecking Ball" and "Bangerz."
In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Billy Ray spoke about Hemsworth and his daughter's troubled relationship. "Somewhere along the stress and strain of different things I didn't see her smiling as often for a little while and, all of a sudden, she's like the sun and when she smiles it's light."
The happiness the Miley feels is something the "Wrecking Ball" singer has reaffirmed multiple times, both in interviews and on Twitter. On Sept. 28, she tweeted, "I'm exhausted from being so f*cking happy. In bed at 9:45 & it feels so good."
