Lana Del Rey fans... don't expect a full-length follow up to her 2012 album Born to Die any time soon. The "Young & Beautiful" singer admitted in an interview with Nylon that inspiration for a second effort has been hard to come by and the sounds just aren't coming to her.
Speaking about a second LP, Del Rey was blunt about the lack of direction and inspiration that she felt. "When people ask me about it, I have to be honest -- I really don't know. I don't want to say, 'Yeah, definitely -- the next one's better than this one,' because I don't really hear a next one," she admitted. "My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying."
Del Rey echoed the difficulties of writing a second album earlier in the Nylon interview and admitted that becoming one of the most famous singer/songwriters in pop music has not made her job any easier.
"It's harder to be an observer when people are watching you. You have to go further inside because the outside world becomes a harder place to draw from," she said.
Difficulties isolating herself and finding inspiration aren't the only musical difficulties that Del Rey has faced over the last year. Following her laptop being stolen, a series of songs (both new and old) leaked online over the summer. In addition to old demos from her Lizzy Grant days like "So Legit" and "Hot Hot Hot," new cuts also hit the web illegally and prematurely, including "Black Beauty" and "Behind Closed Doors."
