Justin Timberlake is ready to bring sexy back to the American Music Awards. Taking a break from his The 20/20 Experience World Tour, the pop megastar is the latest performer announced for the annual ceremony.
According to The Wrap, Timberlake will take the stage at the Nov. 24 ceremony, joining the likes of Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, One Direction and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
In addition to performing, Timberlake is nominated for five AMAs, including Artist of the Year (alongside Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Taylor Swift).
The large amount of high-profile performances at the 2013 AMAs is likely due to the slumping ratings for the annual award show. Last year's ceremony, which did not feature just one host and had live shows from Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber and Kelly Clarkson, experienced the lowest ratings in the show's history. According to The Hollywood Reporter, last year's show had a paltry 9.47 million viewers, losing out to a Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers game. In 2011, the show boasted 12 million viewers.
So, this year, the AMAs are coming back with a vengeance. Mr. Worldwide himself Pitbull is slated to host the show, as well as perform. In addition to the previously mentioned artists, Luke Bryan, Kendrick Lamar, Florida Georgia Line and Imagine Dragons will also take the Nokia Theatre stage in Los Angeles.
The 41st annual American Music Awards will air Nov. 24 on ABC.
