Lorde continues to rule the Hot 100. The 17-year-old New Zealander's debut single "Royals" sits atop the Billboard charts for the seventh week in a row.
According to Billboard, "Royals" bested efforts from Eminem, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. Those industry vets have been kept from the top spot on the country for nearly two months now, though the Slim Shady is coming up quick.
After debuting high at No. 3 on the Hot 100 last week with "The Monster" (feat. Rihanna), Eminem has gained yet another spot on the charts, peaking at No. 2 this week. The new MMLP2 track was actually hurt in Billboard chart points this week with the release of the album, but still managed to gain in streaming and on-demand charts, helping to raise it one more spot.
Of course, Eminem can't rise if someone else doesn't fall. Miley Cyrus' previous No. 1 hit "Wrecking Ball" slid down one more spot to No. 3, finally demounting from the top of the Streaming Chart after six weeks and actually rising on the sales chart.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry's lead Prism single "Roar" holds steady at No. 4, alongside Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" at No. 5. More familiar Hot 100 fare, Drake's latest "Hold On, We're Going Home" rises one spot to No. 6 this week.
Meanwhile, rockers OneRepublic continue to climb the chart with their new hit "Counting Stars," peaking at No. 7 this week and rising two spots.
The lone new track in the top 10 this week comes from a familiar artist and an interesting song. Lady Gaga's Artpop track "Dope" debuts at No. 8 this week after she performed the track with a tear at the premiere YouTube Music Awards. The video has 8.2 million views during Billboard's tracking week.
The viral video, which accounted for 95 percent of the track's streams along with 31,000 digital copies of the song sold, helped its huge debut.
Meanwhile, actual Artpop single "Applause" holds steady at No. 10.
Between the two Gaga tracks is yet another rock act: Imagine Dragons with "Demons" came in at No. 9.
