Sometimes working on set for a film with musicians or other stars has additional perks -- more than just having the pleasure to collaborate on a particular project. For example, the cast and crew of Inside Llewyn Davis got a sneak peek of Justin Timberlake's work-in-progress before any of us even got to hear a single.
In the film, Oscar Isaac plays an aspiring folk singer in New York's Greenwich Village in 1961. He was nominated on Tuesday for a Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. "While we were working on the movie, Justin would be working on his album, so he would be noodling with the guitar so I got to get a preview of it," Isaac told E! News.
Isaac is playing the role of a musician in the film, so maybe he got a chance to contribute to some of Justin's work. "He was like, 'Should I play this not or should I play that note?'" Isaac joked. "No! I think the guy knows what he's doing." He's probably right.
Not only did Isaac get the in on Timberlake's work, but he's also appearing in the upcoming drama set in 1860s Paris, In Secret, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Isaac's biggest crush as a young man, Jessica Lange.
"Jessica Lange was my biggest crush when I was a kid," Isaac said. "I saw King Kong and my dad had just gotten a computer and I wrote her name in every font. It was the kind of crush where it hurt a little bit," he continued. "I was a little depressed from it."
It looks like becoming an actor was a good idea for Isaac. He's getting once in a lifetime experiences and being recognized for his work as well. Kudos to him.
