Dolly Parton announces 2014 U.S. tour dates

Fans of Dolly Parton have something to look forward to in the upcoming year. The "Jolene" singer officially confirmed two treks of U.S. shows for her "Blue Smoke World Tour."

The 68-year-old country singer confirmed a string of concerts in January, followed by more shows in May. The 11-date trek will stop in seven different states, mostly across the southeast and southwest. Fans in Oklahoma don't want to miss out on this.

During a press conference for the tour, Parton said:

"It's always great to perform at home in the good ol' USA. We're kicking off our Blue Smoke World Tour right here at home. I love traveling all over the world; but it's true, there's nothing like home."

"Blue Smoke" will kick off its U.S. leg Jan. 24 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The tour will then move to Australia and New Zealand the following the month. The tour also includes shows in Europe.

Parton is preparing to release a new album "Blue Smoke," which is the singer's 42nd release and first since 2011's "Better Day."
