The Pixies fired Kim Deal's replacement Kim Shattuck last month. And it appears Pixies have learned their lesson about trading your typical hefty bass player for 'berly bassists. The band has brought on touring bassist Paz Lenchatin, rather than letting their band walk around all...de-bassed *catches hurled tomato, takes a bite, asks for salt*
Lenchatin has previously toured with A Perfect Circle and post-Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan outfit Zwan. Lenchatin will perform alongside the Pixies on their North American tour.
"We are really looking forward to playing with [Paz] on these dates," drummer David Lovering said in a statement, according to Rolling Stone. "Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we're having a great time doing it."
Shattuck revealed that she would no longer be a member of the indie rock outfit on her Twitter late in late November, saying that she was "disappointed" with the decision.
Pixies will play 33 dates in support of their latest Deal-less EP, EP-1, starting on January 15.
