The Pixies have been remarkably busy as of late. On top of turning their bassist position into something on par with Spinal Tap's drummers, the influential indie rock group have released a surprise EP and dropped several music videos. Mark my words, 2014 will be the year of the surprise album. Last year, saw a bit of a death rattle for overly promoted pop albums with the run-up to dissapointments like Prism and ARTPOP taking months. Then, Beyonce blew the whole game up with her surprise album release at the tail-end of last year (2014 by awards' standards).
