'The Purge 2' star Zach Gilford teases plot details and spoilers for 2014 horror movie sequel, in theaters June 20

The Purge was one of the biggest movie successes of 2013, so naturally Hollywood is aching to get a sequel to this horror film made and released as soon as possible. That's why The Purge 2 is set to hit theaters on June 20, 2014, with a whole new cast and similar story to the original film. Director James DeMonaco has quite the task ahead of him to create an original sequel to such an interesting film concept, but a new interview with the upcoming movie's star, Zach Gilford, revealed what we can expect from The Purge 2.

"I really liked The Purge. I thought it was cool," Gilford shared. "With the sequel, I thought they had a really great way to do a sequel because the first one took place in an upscale suburb with what happens to a family there when their security system doesn't work. With this one, there's none of the same characters, but it's the same day of the year and it takes place in the city where there are no security systems and it's just like a war zone where people are just trying to survive. So I thought it was pretty interesting to take that concept and to look at it from a different angle."
