Fans of Happy Endings had a rough year in 2013, but this year looks pretty promising for the cast members of the beloved canceled show. Elisha Cuthbert is the latest alumnus to and a new starring role in a series, this time as a lesbian lead in NBC's One Big Happy. Considering both shows have "happy" in their titles is hopefully a good sign for the upcoming sitcom.

Deadline reports:

After fielding multiple offers, Cuthbert has been tapped as the female lead opposite Nick Zano in NBC's multi-camera pilot One Big Happy, from Warner Bros TV and Ellen DeGeneres' A Very Good Production. The project reunites Cuthbert and Zano who had a recurring role on Happy Endings. Written by Liz Feldman and directed by Scott Ellis, One Big Happy centers on two platonic friends since childhood - a lesbian, Lizzy (Cuthbert), and her straight male best friend, Luke (Zano) - who have been living together and trying to have a baby via artificial insemination for some time. They finally get pregnant - just as Luke meets and impulsively marries the love of his life.

Elisha's Happy Endings costar Eliza Coupe recently landed her own starring role in a new series. Coupe is set to star in Benched, a new lawyer comedy that will air on USA.

"Benched is one of those unique series that creates an immediate connection with the audience. The lead is played brilliantly by Eliza Coupe, who has undeniable chemistry with Jay Harrington's character," said USA Network president Chris McCumber. "With Mark Gordon and his incredible pedigree behind this project, we are proud to add Benched to our lineup of original comedies."
