Nic Pizzolatto is quickly becoming a recognizable name due to the alarmingly addicting and successful HBO series that he created, True Detective. The show is currently averaging around 10.9 million viewers each week and it was recently renewed for a second season, which will have a whole new cast and story separate from season one. Now a recent Twitter conversation might have broken some incredible news for the second season, involving leading female roles!

Pizzolatto may have deleted this revealing tweet, but this is 2014 and the Internet is ... well, the Internet, so we still know what he said. After Australian writer (and fan True Detective), Lana Guineay, told the showrunner how if Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey's characters were female the show would be even better.

Check out this suggestion right here:

Pizzolatto replied to Guineay, but later deleted his tweet because it was definitely viewed as a spoiler for season two. The True Detective showrunner said:

"@friggenawesome One of the detriments of only having two POV characters, both men (a structural necessity). Next season..."

This tweet basically made Twitter and plenty of television blogs explode with comments and excitement. Guineay responded to Pizzolatto, explaining why she suggested the female leads. She makes some great points that compliment the show as well!
