True Detective's Matthew McConaughey reveals origins of "Alright Alright Alright"

It's finally happened. Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey explained the origin of his sleazy signature catchphrase, "Alright alright alright."

McConaughey revealed the the phrase's birth on the Canadian talk show George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.

The line was lifted directly from a Doors live album, which is fitting considering the setting of Dazed And Confused.

One of the great mysteries of the Universe has been solved. You can get back to work on explaining singularities, boys.

Unfortunately, due to the set-up of True Detective, we won't get a chance to see Matt as Rust Cohle anymore, but you can still learn about the fate of the series by checking out this awesome update.
