Channing Tatum revealed a lot of great movie updates this weekend at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, one of which was the release date for his Magic Mike sequel that he's currently writing. The summer of 2015 is going to be heating up when Tatum and the rest of his stripper cast members return in Magic Mike XXL on July 3.
Though we have an official release date, Tatum isn't 100% sure about everyone returning for the film.
"I think everyone's gonna be back, I think," he said. "Obviously no one's deals are done which is always kind of scary."
Nevertheless, the film is coming. Tatum managed to sum up the plot of this highly anticipated sequel, too.
"This one will be a road trip movie," he explained to MTV. "Without giving a lot away, we don't wanna make it a really serious, slice-of-life movie. We want to have reality in it, but we don't want to make it some dark drama. There was some darkness in the last one that I think surprised people and shocked people. This one, we want there to be a lot of conflict and a lot of struggle, but we also want there to be a sh*t-ton of fun. A sh*t-ton of just ridiculous stuff that you would never see in a movie."
