We're all very excited for the upcoming eighth season (series for the Brits!) of Doctor Who, but perhaps the most important target for the show is the BBC itself - so is the network as excited for the new episodes as the fans? According to new reports, the BBC is "thrilled" with the early footage of Peter Capladi as the new Doctor!
"He is his own man - very distinctive," a source said, also explaining that the BBC is "delighted" and "thrilled" with the already completed five new episodes of Doctor Who.
"He is the oldest Doctor and there is a sense he is more distanced from his assistant, more of a mystery," the insider explained, also noting that there is "sizzling" chemistry between Peter and his companion played by Jenna Coleman. "He is perhaps less a mate, and someone she looks up to. She has to try and gauge him - but dramatically it's very satisfying and onscreen they work very well together."
The source added: "There is a real buzz about this Doctor. And of course the monsters are great."
While it's great to hear about the BBC's excitement, we have to feel a bit bad for the former Doctor, Matt Smith, who recently admitted he's jealous of the new season.
"I rang Steven Moffat up the other day and found out everything about the new series," he said while appearing at Canada's Calgary Expo. "It sounds really good."
Smith added: "I was really jealous, actually."
We never wanted you to leave, Matt! Well at least we know the new season is getting positive reviews from important people!
