Sexy Harry Styles Fan-Fiction Book Series 'After' Compared To 'Fifty Shades Of Grey,' Movie Adaptation In The Works?

One Direction fan-turned-author Anna Todd struck gold with a fan-fiction story centered around winning Harry Styles' heart. Now her story, entitled After, has garnered a book deal with plenty of interest in a movie adaptation as well. It's no wonder that After is being compared to another fan-fiction phenomenon - Fifty Shades of Grey!

Yes, Fifty Shades of Grey started out as fan-fiction and evolved into one of the biggest romance novels of all time. With Todd's After, we see comparisons in that way, but the story is a bit different, with less bondage!

MTV reports:

The story, which will be reworked and published in November by Simon & Shuster imprint Gallery Books, follows a college freshman Tessa, whose life is turned upside down when she falls for a punk version of Styles.

"It really started when I was on Instagram one day, and I saw these little mini stories people were writing about Harry Styles, which was crazy to me," Todd recently told Sugarscape. "Then one of the girls I had followed on Instagram put her story on Wattpad. I had no idea what that was, but I followed the link and it was this whole world of 1D fan fiction. I started reading all kinds of it, and then decided that I wanted to give it a go myself. I didn't think anything would come of it though - it was just for fun!"
