Are you hoping a new movie based on the popular sci-fi television series The X-Files gets made sometime soon? Well, you're in good company because series star David Duchovny recently revealed that he is trying to get a third movie made even though the second film, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, didn't do well at the box office.
"I would always want to do it. I wish we'd done more already," he said in a new interview with Rolling Stone. "I wish the second one did better business. I think it did OK business, but not the kind of business where you get to do another one right away."
If Duchovny gets his way, what kind of movie would you like to see with the third installment? Let us know in the comments section below!
This weekend, Duchovny's Showtime series Californication comes to an end with its finale. Speaking to the magazine about this project, he expressed how the show changed the public's perception of him as "The X-Files guy."
"Once I was able to branch out and do some other movies and do Californication, I didn't feel like, 'People only think I do that,'" the actor said. "I no longer have that anxiety."
Meanwhile, his X-Files costar Gillian Anderson might be a bit too busy for a third film. She recently showed up in a number of episodes of NBC's horror thriller, crime drama Hannibal and (SPOILER ALERT!) looks to have a bigger role in the upcoming third season.
