'Doctor Who' Season 8 Premiere August 23, 'Deep Breath' Teaser Trailer: More Set Photos Reveal Cybermen Invasion, How WIll Peter Capaldi's Doctor Save The World [PHOTOS]

Brand new set photos from a current episode being filmed for Doctor Who season 8 reveal that the Cybermen are back to take over Earth. With new Doctor Peter Capaldi taking on the robo-race of baddies, do we stand a chance? And where's Jenna Coleman in these set photos? Let's take a look as we wait for the recently announced premiere date of the first 2014 episode, "Deep Breath," airing on August 23 on BBC America.

In these new set photos (like the one above) we see the Doctor in his new face, body and outfit in a sea of Cybermen. Also pictured is guest star Michelle Gomez, taking on the role of Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere.

"I've known Michelle for years, and I'm thrilled to welcome her to Doctor Who," head writer Steven Moffat said this week. "She's everything we need - brilliant, Scottish, and a tiny bit satanic."

Michelle even spoke a bit about her involvement, without giving up any spoilers though.

"Well of course Peter Capaldi is our next Doctor, which makes complete sense," she said. "I'm thrilled to join him. Well, you would be, wouldn't you?"

As you can see, Jenna Coleman was not on set. Perhaps this is just an episode without the main companion? We hope, at least!

Also, Jemma Redgrave was back on set reprising her role of Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, the Brigadier's daughter.
