Stephen Colbert, Conan O’Brien ‘Masturbating Bear’ Feud: Talk Show Hosts Battle Out Who Has The Better Bear Bit

Conan O'Brien has been well known for having his famous "Masturbating Bear" sketch appear on both Late Night with Conan O'Brien and TBS' CONAN –– totaling 18 years. And while there was certainly a time when he was the only comedian to have such a bizarre (yet hilarious) character, it seems another person is stepping up to show Conan that there are now two self-pleasuring bears in the late night TV circuit: The Colbert Report's own Stephen Colbert.

On last night's episode of CONAN, the host spoke of a recent tweet made by fellow host / friend Stephen Colbert, in which the soon-to-be Late Show leading man stated that he was the first ever host to show a masturbating bear on air. "Just wanted to point that out," he tweeted.

Tonight, I made television history by being the first host to ever show a masturbating bear on air. Just wanted to point that out.

Naturally, O'Brien had to note this and call attention to the fact that it was he who originated the bear.

Though, we'll have to admit, Colbert's bear is rather epic considering it is a real one, but O'Brien's point is that nothing beats an original!

The bit took a turn when O'Brien announced that his Masturbating Bear was dying, showing him just off stage in a hospital gurney with a doctor and a nurse tending to his needs. And though it would seem certain the experts did all they could, apparently only one thing could save him in the end ... the video of Colbert's Masturbating Bear.
