This episode opens with a hate crime against the Guilty Remnant. One of the more familiar looking members, Gladys, is taken, duct taped to a tree and stoned to death. We get to see some emotion from this hard figure; she even manages to speak, albeit her last words.
"It was only a matter of time," Meg tells Laurie, who then has a crazy panic attack.
Plus the guy shooting all of the dogs shows up again to ... shoot more dogs! We learn his name, too - Dean!
Now Kevin has to deal with the mountain of backlash that is sure to come. He asks Mayor Warburton for a town curfew, he stakes out the GR's home, he brings Reverend Jamison in for questioning, and giving the Guilty Remnant whistles for safety.
Patti takes Laurie out of town to apparently give her a "day off." It turns out she brought Gladys to the same motel before and that, just like Laurie, she didn't talk when she was allowed. Also this scene showed us how crazy Pattie seems!
Dean brings up an amazing point at the town hall meeting to talk about the curfew. What if the GR did it to themselves? That brief meeting right at the beginning of the episode with Patti was pretty random ... or was it?
Jamison asked to see Gladys' body, to pray for her, but when he and Garvey get to the morgue, she's gone. The feds have her and suggest getting rid of the Guilty Remnant - for good.
After hearing this offer, Kevin gets drunk! Just like episode two when his bagel goes missing, he finds what he's been looking for: his white shirts. So once again, he isn't going crazy!
Jamison offers, over a loud speaker, to pray for Gladys. Laurie runs out of the house and interrupts the prayer by whistling non-stop at him, forcing him to cease.
The episode ends with Gladys' body being cremated.
It looked like this episode would offer a lot of change, but we learned that not much really has. Laurie's doubts of the Guilty Remnant are gone. Jamison hasn't turned any GR members back to religion. Kevin is just as lost as ever. Still, there are so many questions, especially about the weird occurrences with Kevin and technology failing him.
