Floyd Mayweather, might not be the best person to seek advice from, after all he has his own relationship issues dealing with his ex, Shantel Jackson, but now the boxing champ is apologizing for his statements he made regarding Ray Rice.

"If I offended anyone I apologize," Floyd said, after defending Rice. "I strive to be a perfectionist but no one is perfect. I don't condone what happened. I'm not even involved in football."

Mayweather too has been in the limelight for his own domestic abuse scandal. His ex-girlfriend, Jackson just filed charges against the boxing champ, who also revealed that he'll be retiring soon.

Mayweather is set to fight Marcos Maidana this Saturday. After the fight, Mayweather will have two more matches to complete under his contract with Showtime, according to Sister 2 Sister.

On Tuesday, Mayweather released a statement, via Twitter about Rice, who was suspended and fired for both the Baltimore Ravens, and the NFL.

"I think there's a lot worse things that go on in other people's households. It's just not caught on video, if that's safe to say," he wrote.

However, Mayweather's criticism on the NFL's decision, and his defense to Rice received a lot of backlash from followers, as Floyd tried clear his name from the controversial incident.

"I'm not focused on it. I don't know why anybody else is," Mayweather said.
