Last night was comedian Michael Che's last time at The Daily Show before taking the co-host spot on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update. To celebrate his work, host Jon Stewart decided to surprise him with a little goodbye party.
Breaking character during the "Casual Racism" correspondent's bit about Vice President Joe Biden, Stewart asked, "You really think this was a bit? ... This segment?" He then informed the crowd of the comic's last night before heading over to the legendary NBC sketch show. Following that, Stewart brought out a few of his co-workers to commemorate the "end of an era" –– a three-month era.
"It reminds me of when John Oliver left," Stewart said. Che then interjected that Oliver was there for seven whole years so it's nowhere near the same situation. But, of course, the host asserts the 31-year-old made quite an impact during his Daily Show days.

The show's own Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Jordan Klepper and Jessica Williams made appearances to awkwardly say goodbye to the correspondent they really ... didn't know. Klepper greeted his co-worker of three times with a handshake while Williams gave a friendly wave, which seems adequate considering the two have never worked together.
As for Bee and Jones ... we're guessing they've also never met Che, seeing as the latter said goodbye with a kind, "Don't be a stranger, Wyatt!" referring to former correspondent Wyatt Cenac.
Stewart ended the segment by taking Che over to the piano for a horribly humorous rendition of Sarah McLachlan's "I Will Remember You."
