With Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful 8 filming in late 2014 with a release date set for the fall of 2015, we love hearing all of the casting rumors beginning to spread! We heard some speculation about Jennifer Lawrence earlier this year, but this week some reports are claiming The Lord of the Rings star Viggo Mortensen has met with Tarantino to discuss a possible role in the western movie. What do you think of this possible casting spoiler?
Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson have all but been confirmed to star in the Django Unchained follow up project with Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, James Remar, and Walter Goggins remaining as rumored cast members for now.
This new rumor started when a source told the New York Daily News that the actor and the director met and spoke about the film in NYC's Greenwich Hotel. The insider claimed "the pair had what appeared to be scripts in front of them and seemed to be discussing characters," adding the director "boisterously" talked about a "ruthless gang leader" role that he wants Mortensen to play.
While we would love to have more solid details about this new rumor, we can't help but agree that that role sounds perfect for Viggo! He definitely has a western look to him and imagining him as a "ruthless gang leader" sure does get the imagination going!
