George Clooney had the wedding of the century and now we can tell you how much he and bride Amal Alamuddin spent on the Italian extravaganza.
With numerous outlets estimating the wedding cost anywhere from $5 million to a staggering $13 million, People reports that the wedding cost about $1.6 million. Does that mean they were on a budget? Just kidding!
The three-day shindig, which took place at the Aman Canal Grande Resort and Belmond Hotel Cipriani, was not paid for by Amal's family.
Luckily for the families, they didn't have to spend too much on the open bar. According to People, George and friend Rande Gerber, husband of Cindy Crawford, flew 100 cases of alcohol from the brand they own called Casamigos Tequila. The tequila was flown from California and included Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo.
Another interesting detail of the much publicized event was George's dancing abilities.
"They were dancing all night long," DJ Sam Young told People. "George is a big dancer! It was crazy! He can really hold his own."
Guests who partied the night away included Matt Damon, Bono, Bill Murray and Anna Wintour.
But it was the toast given by George's father Nick Clooney that was the moment of the night. The former journalist gave a touching speech that brought some of the attendants to tears.
"Amal and George present us with one more gift. Hope. No, it's more than hope. Hope is too ephemeral," he said. "It is belief that in this place and at this moment, love is alive and well."
What do you think of George's million-dollar wedding?
