'Breaking Bad' Actor RJ MItte Opens Up About Cerebral Palsy

Breaking Bad's RJ Mitte made fans swoon a little bit more as he opened up to Untitled Magazine about his disability. The actor's cerebral palsy has been an intricate part of his life, with the obvious hardships that face the disability with the possible endless positives that can stem from it as well, the actors gives us in detail his road with CP.

"My CP [cerebral palsy] wasn't as bad as his [Walt Jr's] but I still went through all the therapy as a kid. I went through all the stretching and I knew what this kid had to go through to keep control over who he is. It was an amazing eye-opener to be able to see everything that I had to overcome and be able to watch another person go through it."

Mitte has mild cerebral palsy, which results in a permanent physical disability that usually arise's from birth, during ones pregnancy or up until the age of three. CP is caused by brain damage in the motor control centers of the brain.

In Mitte's case, he was born in an emergency caesarian and was not breathing during this time, which lead to permanent brain damage.

This did not stop Mitte from living out his dreams of becoming an actor. After moving to Hollywood in 2006 he sought out roles where disabilities would serve as educating the public.

"When I come up with any character, I try to base as much on my life as their life," He tells the magazine. "I try to base what and how that character feels in a situation and then use the emotion of what I had to go through, where I had to be, and what I had to do to be able to be where I'm at and do what I do as a brace, kind of like a backbone. Every character needs a little bit of struggle and I find that it just helps to make the character a bit more real."
