Miley Cyrus may be acting out of this world with her outfits and performances, but she doesn't care if you call her crazy to her face.
In an interview with Australia's Sunrise TV, the "Wrecking Ball" singer said she thinks of being called crazy as a compliment, especially from her upbringing and where she comes from.
"It really doesn't bother me when people tell me I'm crazy, because I am," she said, per Us Weekly. "I grew up around people like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton, and those people are not normal."
Miley doesn't care about what people say about her as long as they say she's caring and generous.
"It's just always been [about] the way you treat people. There's many girls that I know that are in this industry that come out and sit like this and they'll be all polite, but in person they're not so polite, and they're not so kind," she said. "And I've heard that my reputation is a good one. I say hello to everybody and I treat everybody the same."
"So anytime anyone thinks I'm crazy, it's like, I'd rather be crazy than not a nice person," she added.
Not only is being cordial to people important to her, but she's also realized her happiness comes first. "I think people get really wrapped up, and at the end of it, people can be the most famous and rich people in the world and have all this stuff, but they're not really that happy," she told the hosts. "So I just decided about a year ago that my whole life goal is just to be happy all the time."
The former Hannah Montana star's heart was on full display at the MTV Video Music Awards this year when she brought up a homeless teen to accept Video of the Year award. It was the singer's desire to give light to the topic of teen homelessness for a broader younger audience.
So, do you think Miley is crazy?
