"Come A Little Closer" singer Dierks Bentley is a chart topping country artist and he is now revealing the story behind his No. 1 hit "Drunk on a Plane."

Bentley will be performing the hit title on Front and Center, a special in honor of the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the CMA's Songwriter Series.

"Drunk on an Plane" tells the story of a man who was left at the alter, but still goes on his honeymoon. To cope with the rejection he gets drunk on the plane and proceeds to buy drinks for everyone, except the pilot and creates a party in the sky. But how did the song come about? In the Front and Center special, which airs on Oct. 18 on Public Television, the singer reveals his inspiration.

According to People, Bentley was having writer's block while he was hanging out with fellow writer Josh Kear, when the latter suggested the title "Drunk on a Plane" and then everything fell into place.

"I was like, 'We gotta write that song, man,'" the superstar recalled. "I do like having some drinks and I like planes, so it worked out pretty good."

"It's been a fun song to write and an even more fun song to watch the crowd sing on the road. The video was pretty fun too––so it's been a fun song," the 38-year-old singer revealed.

During his Riser Tour this fall, the "I Hold On" singer continued his Miles and Music for Kids event, raising $335,000. The singer has done the fundraising event, which raises money to go to the Vanderbilt Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital, for numerous years, but this year they earned the most during their fundraising event in Nashville, Taste of Country reported.

"I'm still coming down from the high of such an unbelievable last run of shows on the summer leg of this tour. The fans in Cincy, Cleveland and Indianapolis were ready to close out their summer in a big way. Then we got back to Nashville and I was totally blown away by the outpouring of support we got for this year's Miles and Music," he said in a statement.

"This little event we started nine years ago has taken on a life of its own. I feel like I'm just a small part of this thing. It has really become about country music fans and bikers coming together to help our community and those kids. It's incredible."
