The fact that Christopher Nolan shot a number of scenes for his upcoming sci-fi epic film Interstellar in IMAX was cool enough to hear about in the months ahead of its November release date, but we have some incredible news for those hitting the high-definition theaters this fall. According to reports, there's over an hour of IMAX footage in this movie, meaning the immersive experience will last over a third of the film!

"This is the first film I have made where the actual experience of the film is paramount to the audience," Nolan told Entertainment Weekly in the cover story issue of the magazine. "You would think that's the case with Batman movies but it's not; they're more dependent on the reaction of characters on screen. Interstellar is different. It harkens back to the direct experience films of 2001, where you're not just experiencing it through the characters, you are lost in it."

With this amount of IMAX footage in mind and our previous coverage of the early release of the film in select IMAX theaters, are you more interested in shelling out more money for this movie experience? If so, we suggest you head over to Slash Film to find out how to get into one of these early screenings!

While you're at it, check out some great new images from the film over at The Film Stage, too!
