Gugu Mbatha-Raw Stuns On November Cover Of 'Elle' Magazine

British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw, 31, stuns on the cover of Elle magazine's November issue. The actress fronts one of the magazine's Women in Hollywood editions. Eight actresses, including five moms and a mother-to-be, grace different covers of Elle's November issue and were honored at the magazine's 21st annual Women in Hollywood Awards last week. Other 2014 Women in Hollywood honorees include Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Lange, Tina Fey, Elizabeth Banks, Annette Bening and Brie Larson.

On the cover, the actress looks flawless, with hair slicked back and bright, coral lipstick. She wears a black jacket from the Calvin Klein Collection, earrings from Harry Winston and Chopard and a David Yurman ring.

Inside, Mbatha-Raw talks about her role in Beyond the Lights and what about the film sparked her interest.

"One of the things that drew me to the project was the relationship between mother and daughter — that 'mom-ager' dynamic — because I grew up with a single mom, though my dad has definitely been in my life a lot. But my mom couldn't be more different from Minnie Driver's character. I was the pushy child, the one who wanted to be doing ballet and jazz and tap and everything," she said.

The actress also spoke about whether or not she has ever felt like she has reached the top.

"It's funny, I never feel like, 'Oh, wow, I've made it.' I'm interested in the journey. I'm interested in the adventure of working with different people, and I guess as soon as you sit on your laurels and can go, 'Well, aren't I great?' that's just the beginning of the end," she said.
