Dancing With the Stars' week seven performances was full of twists and turns. In order to fit in with the "Halloween Night" theme every team stepped it up in the overall experience section of their routines, but some dances suffered from getting too into the theme and lacked in technique.

Week seven began with a really interesting house of horrors style routine from the pros. It was the perfect to start to the Halloween night, which contained every team's normal routine and then two group routines.

The first couple to perform was Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd. After making a comeback last week, according to Julianne Hough, the duo had to raise the bar. With two routines to learn this week, it was clear that Tommy's body was not ready to endure that much stress. However, when it came to the routine Tommy was a great partner and rocked the quickstep. It looked a little sloppy at the end, but overall it was a good routine. They earned 28 points.

Next up... Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev. Both Lea and Artem had a hard time this week during practice after they slipped in rankings on the leader board. The eventually overcame their internal pressures and had a beautiful argentine tango. It was dark and twisted, but super technical, which was a huge bonus for judge Len Goodman, who returned this week to score the routines. Lea was flexible and flawless, which was good to see. They got 34 points.

When Bethany Mota and Derek Hough prepared for their performance this week, Derek said Bethany had a lack of enthusiasm, which was a negative. Their devilish and theatrical routine (which was a paso doble) was fierce and full of drama and gorgeous turns. They received a score of 39, proving that they are on the rise as a team.

Antonio Sabato Jr. and Cheryl Burke took the stage next. They chose "I Put a Spell on You," as their song choice and it was a perfect fit for the theme. Because of the fact that they were at the bottom of the leader board last week, Antonio and Cheryl both knew that they needed a very strong performance. When they performed their Viennese waltz, it was pretty strong, but was more of a show than a technical routine. It needed more dancing and that it why they only received 27 points.

Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater are used to being in the bottom, but after last week's higher praise they weren't as worried until they discovered they were doing the jive. With the jive there are a lot of steps and fast movements, which is not what Michael is good at. When it came time to perform it was clear that it was not in Michael's wheelhouse. They only got 20 points, but it was a pretty accurate score.

When Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy prepared for their Halloween routine, they decided to pay tribute to Pretty Little Liars, by using the show's theme song. Their routine was dark and bone chilling from the beginning and their technique for the Viennese waltz was on point. At the end of the routine Janel killed Val in a very Mona move. It was dramatic and full of acting, which is what Janel does best. They got 31 points and only received corrective criticism on a few small details.

Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson have been at the top of the leader board for some time, but with their injuries from last week still haunting them, this week's routine proposed a challenge. When they actually took the stage, their rumba was traditional, which all the judges liked and it was beautiful. It was a slower and more elegant routine, which was unexpected from the duo. They got 36 points. Plus, Alfonso revealed that his son turned one-year-old today and that him and his wife were going to have another baby!

Finishing off the pair routines was Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas. Since Sadie had to go home this week to film Duck Dynasty, Mark went with her and they had an added audience of cameramen during rehearsals. Even though it took Mark longer than usual to choreograph the routine, it was really cool. Their paso doble had a zombie theme to it and it was full of skirt movement and strong postures. They received 30 points.

The first group performance of the night was team Itsy Bitsy made up of Bethany, Derek, Janel, Val, Lea, Artem, Michael and Emma. From the beginning of the rehearsals, Michael knew he was the weakest link. Since he had to miss a practice, the group was very nervous. Once it came time to the show everyone nailed it. During the breakout freestyle sections, every duo was great. Janel and Val showed off their sexy side, Lea and Artem did killer lifts, Michael and Emma had great partner work and Derek and Bethany did awesome hip hop moves.

The judges loved the spider-themed routine, which ended with all of the team members climbing up into a giant web. It was really cool and earned 36 total points to be added to every pair's overall scores for the night.

The second group was Team Creepy made up of Alfonso, Witney, Antonio, Cheryl, Sadie, Mark, Tommy and Peta. This group chose to do "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror Picture Show dressed as circus characters. It was a really fun and upbeat routine to watch. When each pair separated to do their own thing it was perfect. Tommy and Peta were comical and totally in sync and Sadie and Mark were funky in their movements. Alfonso and Witney played up their mime costumes with fun hand movements and Antonio and Cheryl used Antonio's strength to their advantage.

The judges really liked the concept, which was complete with an all female kick line. They would have liked a more in sync group number, but overall the performance was more fun to watch than the first group. They received 32 points to be added to all of their scores.

At the end of the show, Team Creepy was up for elimination. In the end Antonio and Cheryl were sent home. Everyone else was safe. Next week there will be an all-new episode of DWTS. Plus, two weeks from today, America's Choice will happen, where you can choose what song and style of dance that each pair performs to.

What was your favorite routine of the night? Are you sad that Antonio was sent home?
