Peter Capaldi became a somewhat of an acting legend thanks to his role on The Thick of It. These days he's the 12th Doctor on Doctor Who, which is definitely a different role than the foul-mouthed Malcolm Tucker. In a recent interview, The Thick of It creator Armando Iannucci was asked about his former series' star and how he feels he's doing on season 8 of Doctor Who. The showrunner praised Capaldi and also shared a great piece of advice for the episode writers of the show: make him run if you want laughs!
"Is he a good Doctor The Peter I know is the smart, funny, thoughtful guy - and I think he's exactly what the Doctor should be," Iannucci told Radio Times. "I'll give you a tip though - watch him run. It's always hilarious. Stop it, pause it and go back. It'll be worth it every time."

"He's funny in a bamboozled way," Iannucci said of Capladi's portrayal. "And that allows Clara more space so they've become a proper, classic double act. He's also the first Doctor to give off that air of the tremendous responsibility - which you never quite saw before ... Is he a good Doctor? He's how the Doctor should be."
