Funny man Seth Rogen may be playing a more serious character for once in the new Steve Jobs biopic as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Sony's recent biopic will star Christian Bale to play Jobs, who was the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Apple Inc. until his death from pancreatic cancer in 2011.
As Variety reports, Jessica Chastain is being eyed for an unspecified role in the film.
Screenwriter for the biopic, Aaron Sorkin — creator of HBO's The Newsroom — confirmed that Bale would be set to play the much-anticipated role: "We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Chris Bale."
Sony acquired the rights following Jobs's death in 2011.
Last year, Ashton Kutcher starred in the independently financed movie Jobs, which covered his life from 1974 while a student at Reed College to the introduction of the iPod in 2001.
Jobs got mixed reviews, stating that the film left out key points, but the movie did embrace Wozniak (Josh Gad).
Rogen would be an interesting choice for the movie, but it would rave in the younger generation who follow Rogen's work — which are many. Recently, Rogen starred in the 2014 film Neighbors alongside Zac Efron. The movie got positive reviews and grossed more than $268 million against an $18 million budget.
The Canadian actor is best known for his slapstick, weed-smoking humor. He's most notable for his movie Knocked Up alongside Katherine Heigl.
The comedic actor also works closely with James Franco, as the pair as are known to spoof celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
