Leading up to the much-anticipated Valentine's Eve premiere of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, Make Up For Ever will launch a capsule collection inspired by E.L. James' erotic novel.
According to Fashionista, the "kinky collection" actually comes across as more of a sweet, chaste and early-Christian Grey-era Anastasia Steele. But, of course, there are suggestive names for each set and the packaging includes smooth and silky rope ties, and an ornate lock and key motif. The "Tease Me" lip trio offers soft and flirty pink hues, which are long-wearing and super pigmented. The "Desire Me" blush set features a flushed, rosy palette. The comprehensive "Give In To Me" collection — in a glossy, mirrored lock box — includes a neutral-hued eye-shadow quad, eyeliner and lip colors.
According to WWD, to further compliment the Fifty Shades of Grey theme, the Make Up For Ever collection will offer beauty advice from Victoria Down, the beauty guru from the movie, via tips included with the product packaging, plus online tutorials. A spokesperson for Make Up For Ever declined to say whether the collection was done in partnership with Universal Studios.
The "Tease Me" lip trio is priced at $32 while the "Give In To Me" collection is priced at $79. The limited edition collection will launch on December 26, exclusively in Sephora stores and at Sephora.com. According to WWD's "industry sources," the capsule collection is estimated to ring in $5 million retail sales. Christian Grey would be proud.
