Opening up the second half of the miniseries, we learn that Christopher moved away, is getting divorced and won't be returning home. This upsets his parents, who have been renting out Christopher's home to tenants over the summer. Olive wants to sell the house so as to not deal with tenants anymore.

Henry begins to fall into an apparent depression due to his son's divorce and the ultimate fact that he might not have grandchildren, but Olive simply tells him to "snap out of it." In her older age, she's a bit more patient with her husband, but is still as strict. Henry seems to still love her unconditionally, even though he's still thinking of Denise. He even made a bowl out of the younger, dead Henry's wood for her.

Visiting his old pharmacy earlier in the episode, Henry runs into Jack Kennison (Bill Murray) and his wife (Maryann Urbano). This is just an introduction to Murray's character-not a big role but very important as the series progresses.

We also meet Olive's dog, Clancy, who pops up throughout the episode. He is very adorable and fits so well into Olive's life as a constant companion. Clancy likes to kiss Henry a lot.

Olive and Henry talk about Christopher's divorce with friends Bonnie (Ann Dowd - check out an interview with Dowd right here!) and her husband, who seem to mirror the Kitteridge's attitudes. After dinner, Olive feels ill and has Henry drive her to the hospital's emergency room for the bathroom. After speaking with the nurse at the E.R. and revealing she ate crab cakes, Olive finds out that she needs to get examined because a woman had died recently after eating a similar meal.

Meanwhile, two masked assailants come into the hospital with guns and take everyone hostage. Olive, Henry, the nurse and the doctor are all taken into a room with their hands tied. Unfortunately, the Kitteridge couple gets into a heated argument; with Olive revealing she wanted to leave Henry for O'Casey. They eventually break out into laughter at the thought. When the police save them, Henry wets his pants.

Back home, after speaking with Christopher who suggests talking to a counselor about the incident, Olive and Henry decide not to discuss the fight they had at the hospital. The next day she apologizes to Henry for what she said, and then calls herself a rotten wife.

8 months later, Henry has a stroke and ends up in an assisted living facility. He unresponsive, we find out when Christopher comes to visit. Later, Christopher and Olive have it out, ending with our main character breaking down and crying.

After an adorable visit with Clancy to Henry's room (sorry, I love this dog), Olive receives a letter from Louise Larkin and decides to pay her a visit. We learn in Olive's recounting of the meeting to Henry later on that Louise's son, Doyle, who was a student of Olives that was scene in detention in Part One, murdered someone. All the while, Olive is professing her love to Henry, saying he doesn't have to die alone because she'll be right there.

Part three concludes with Olive leaving the care facility, asking herself, "Who the hell do I think I am?" Who do you think she thinks she is?
