Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks is excited for the new season of the Bravo reality show, but it is in the middle of her bitter divorce with her incarcerated husband Apollo Nida.
During the drama-filled trailer for RHOA, Phaedra is accused of having an affair by Celebrity Apprentice star Kenya Moore with an African man named Mr. Chocolate. Phaedra then gets up to hit the former Miss USA.
"It was very upsetting to me because when she made that accusation, my husband hadn't even been in prison for 36 hours at the time. It came at a time when I was already very emotional," the lawyer told Access Hollywood Live. "It's very hard to be in the public eye, under such public scrutiny and have the type of trauma that I'm having in my personal life and have everyone make their own crazy suggestions."
"First of all, I believe in the sanctity of marriage," she continued. "I have been a very faithful wife. I think I've been an excellent wife. But I have two small children and I'm raising my two sons to respect women but I respect myself. So it is ridiculous to think I would do anything inappropriate."
The RHOA star doesn't know yet if she'll divorce Apollo while he is in prison, but one thing is for sure: She isn't dating. Having said that, she wouldn't discuss if Apollo cheated on her with other women during the marriage.
"I've made a decision," she told Billy Bush and Kitt Hoover. "There's no benefit in mudslinging because we have two very young children, who I want to be able to look back and say that their mother is not only respectful but handled her affairs with a lot of dignity and class, and so I would never diminish my husband at any point, whether we are married, divorced, estranged or whatever because he will always be family and I will always love him and we will always have two wonderful children together."
