It seems as though the star of the 2004 hit film Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan, wanted to play Rachel McAdams' role of Regina George.
Now this just sounds unfathomable to most!
The troubled star, 28, recently opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her 14 year old film demands.
"I wanted to play Regina, I had just played - in Confessions (of a Teenage Drama Queen] and Freaky [Friday] - not the cool girl in school. I was still 17 years old and I wanted to be the cool girl on set. So I had a war with him, [Mark Waters] and he goes, 'No, Cady is the heroine, and that's who you are,' "
Not long before Mean Girls, starring Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Lohan was cast in two other films that depicted her character as a mild mannered teenager trying to figure it all out.
"I had finished Freaky Friday not long before with Mark Waters. I had gone to Toronto and I was doing Confession of a Teenage Drama Queen. Mark came out to scout locations for Mean Girls and came to see me at my hotel and said, 'Do you wanna do this movie?'"
Lohan should be thankful she did pick the role of Cady Heron because this was the movie that forged her career into stardom.
Fans would even be stunned to know that Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) originally auditioned for the role of Cady! "Everyone was flipped around a little bit," she told EW. "I loved Regina-she seemed so deliciously wicked and borderline evil. I was quite a bit older at the time- I was, like 24 or 25. Mark said, "I see Cady a little bit younger, but I think it makes sense if Regina kind of grew up a little too fast."
