Former Real Housewives of Orange County Slade Smiley's son Grayson Alexander Arroyo-Smiley was admitted to the ICU this past week due to upper respiratory distress which has caused him to be on a ventilator. Grayson has been struggling with an inoperable brain tumor since 2005.

Smiley's former ex, Michelle Arroyo, mother of his two children, wrote on her son's "Amazing Gray" Facebook page regarding the sad news.

"It has been a rough few days. Gray got an upper respiratory bug last week that wore him down and sent him into respiratory distress," the FB page read.

As Radar Online reported back in 2012, Smiley's son was diagnosed with the rare brain tumor in 2005 and has battled with hospital stays ever since.

"We had to put him in ICU and back on a ventilator on Saturday. Today he was taken off the ventilator and is doing well on oxygen so hopefully he will maintain his o2 levels and her will be able to go home soon," the post read.

Smiley's fiance and former Orange County Housewife Gretchen Rossi had her 36th birthday celebration on display this past week during Grayson's hospital stay.

On neither of the two's social media pages was there mention of Grayson's ICU visit, only pictures of the couple partying for Rossi's birthday.

"I sincerely cannot believe that sladesmiley pulled this off last night!! I mean to say I had NO idea, is an understatement," read a Twitter and Instagram post from Rossi Oct. 31 regarding a birthday surprise from her fiance:

Smiley has been dealing with legal battles with his ex Michelle for years regarding non-payment of child support.
