The Alexander Wang for H&M collection became available today in stores and online (in case waiting in line outside and elbowing fellow shoppers isn't your thing). Those who opted to shop online, however, came across a huge problem this morning. The collection wasn't even set to go live on the site until 10 a.m. EST, but just 10 minutes before, the site crashed.
Visitors to HM.com were welcomed with a message informing them that there were too many people on the site. Apparently, the retailer didn't learn from previous experience, like the time Versace for H&M crashed the site. For shoppers who prefer going to a physical store, here's what to expect:
Fashionista reports, a cashier at one SoHo location said that despite limits on how many of each product could be bought, people were buying tons of items - as much as five thousand dollars' worth at a time. Still, employees at multiple downtown stores said that the crowds hadn't been too crazy, despite reports that people had been lining up at certain locations since 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Happy shopping!
