Brian Hoyer, Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, Terrence West, Ben Tate, Joe Haden and Tashaun Gipson have one thing in common -- they believe they will win the NFL Super Bowl this season -- and slowly but surely, the fans are starting to believe it too. This franchise struggled to win last season, but they now find themselves at 6-3 and arguably, they could easily have been 9-0. The Cleveland Browns WILL win the Super Bowl and they can explain why they're better than ever, and have never had a better chance.
For large parts of the season, they've had no Gordon, no Cameron, and countless of other injury problems; add that to their supposedly "weak roster" (with that 6-3 record) and you'll see why they're confident that a fully-fit roster can better their battered one. Haden insisted things were different, saying, "This is definitely rare air, man. But I think this team and this coaching staff and the players we have, they're ready for it."
Coach Mike Pettine is keeping a lid on things, saying that Hoyer is the man. "I think people underestimate his arm a little bit. It's a tight spiral, and he can throw it." Hoyer agreed, evidently, saying, "I'm more worried about rain. Wind doesn't even really enter my mind unless it's 60 mile per hour gust. ... When you throw a spiral, that ball is meant to cut through the wind."
The Browns believe, and so do some of the doubters. Can they win the Super Bowl? Probably not, but you cannot deny them the fact that this is the best chance they've had in years.
