Tonight is a new episode of Nashville and The Middle on ABC. Before tonight's the new episodes, we have some news for both series. Nashville is adding a new hot doctor to Season 3, while the Hecks will be dealing with a death on The Middle later this season.
TV Line exclusively revealed that Nashville will be adding an attractive doctor to its cast this season.
"Nick Jandl will recur as Dr. Caleb Rand, a direct-but-charming physician who becomes intimately involved in the lives of two of the show's key characters," TV Line exclusively reported.
With Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) pregnant this season, it would make sense that Nick's — from Hulu's The 4 to 9ers — character would be linked to her, but currently there's no word on which of the show's two characters he will become close with. If he is involved with Juliette, will be befriend Avery or will he add to the drama that currently surrounds their relationship?
Could Dr. Rand be a new love interest for Will, who's trying to keep his sexuality undercover while his crazy wife Layla is spiraling out of control? What about a love interest for the series's newcomer, Sadie Saxton? You'll have to tune in to see whom the doctor is making house calls to.
As for The Middle, Episode 12 from this season won't be all fun and games. In the episode, "Hecks on a Train," the Heck family will all be together but for a sad event. Poor Aunt Edie (Jeanette Miller) dies and the family must go to her funeral, according to TV Line.
"The show is currently casting for a trio of colorful characters that the Hecks will encounter on their way to the somber event — including an unfriendly, unmotivated 30-something bartender; a rebellious, 13-year-old boy who hits it off with Brick — and convinces him to pilfer a beer; and a warm, sympathetic funeral director," TV Line writer Michael Ausiello reported. "Nope, it appears the laugh train won't stop in the face of family heartbreak."
