Joakim Noah has never been one to shy away from the media, the fans or any kind of attention, but now he has blasted NBA fans and critics, telling them to "chill the f--- out" when it comes to Derrick Rose and his injury-riddled state. The Chicago Bulls are desperate to have a healthy, consistent line-up out on the floor, but Rose continues to avoid playing, with niggles after niggles coming. They want an NBA championship as soon as possible, and without Rose, it's not looking likely, but clearly, as shown through his dramatic verbal attack, the Bulls know what they're doing, or do they?
He explained: "Sometimes it's frustrating, you got injuries, you got tweaks. Every time something happens to him, people act like it's the end of the world and that's f------ so lame to me. Relax. Like, OK, he's coming back from two crazy surgeries. Obviously we're being conservative with him. When things aren't going right, he's got to listen to his body more than anybody. Everybody needs to chill the f--- out."
He also continued, saying that Rose isn't the bad guy he's perceived to be. He explained, "It's just frustrating because I feel like he's sometimes portrayed as something that he's not. You don't come back from the injuries that he's coming back from without unbelievable commitment, you know what I'm saying? I'm just growing and just watching the powers that you [media] guys have. Sometimes, it's just you guys can really portray somebody as something that he's not. ... I know how much he cares about this game. I see it every day."
Perhaps Noah has a point, but then again if Rose cannot stay fit what use is he to the Bulls? For years they've claimed they'll win a title when Rose is back, but at the moment his minutes are a rare luxury. Perhaps Noah will be proved right, but if they don't sort this situation sooner rather than later, then perhaps their best chances of winning titles will disappear.
