The Latin Grammy Awards was a star studded event with winners that included Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, and Calle 13, but the broadcast started out with a serious political tone after being postponed by a speech about immigration from President Obama.
The network broadcasting the awards, Univision, postponed the show by about 20 minutes so that the audience could watch the President announce how he will use his executive powers to not allow millions of illegal immigrants to be deported.
When the show finally did get started, the focus was mostly on performances. A whopping 19 artists had performed by the time it was over, including Marc Anthony singing the hit song "Rude" with Magic!, Pitbull with Santana, and reggaeton singer Wisin performing with Pitbull and Chris Brown.
As for the awards, Mr. Anthony, Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband, won for Best Salsa Album and made his first public appearance with new wife, Shannon De Lima.
Watch as Enrique thanks his fans and the Recording Academy:
