Apparently The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings writer-director Peter Jackson has more to celebrate this Christmas than the Dec. 17 release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Word has it that the famed New Zealand-born and bred name will receive his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this coming Dec. 8.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, the announcement was made just yesterday, Monday, Nov. 24 that Jackson's star will lay just outside the Dolby Theatre, the venue for Hollywood's acclaimed Academy Awards.
On the newfound star, Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame stated, "We are very happy to honor such an esteemed filmmaker as Peter Jackson with a star on the Walk of Fame."
She then added, "His groundbreaking award-winning films are part of the legacy of larger-than-life, Hollywood-style entertainment that is beloved the world over."
Bringing Jackson into the Walk of Fame family will be an array of Lord of the Rings and Hobbit names, including Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evens, Richard Armitage, and yes, Elijah Wood himself.
