Horrible Bosses 2 is officially in theaters! The film's stars — Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day — are opening up about their new movie and revealing their drink of choice and each other's nicknames.
The men of Horrible Bosses 2 always have a good time together, so when Entertainment Weekly sat down with them this week, the fun was flowing, as was the drink talk. The leading men revealed their drinks of choice and not all of them are alcoholic.
"A double Jack on the rocks, a nice tequila-Casa Dragones with salt on the rim and a lime. And then a double vodka on the Uber ride home," Jason Sudeikis, who plays Kurt Buckman, told Entertainment Weekly about his favorite drink.
"I like to think I'm more sophisticated than this, but truth be told, outside of maybe a martini here or there, I'm a beer guy," Charlie Day, who plays Dale Arbus, revealed.
"I like a Sapporo. Then I'll maybe have a glass of sake. And then beer in a plastic cup with a Ping-Pong ball floating in it," he added about the brand her prefers.
After Sudeikis chimed in, "A red cup — that you flipped over and won?" Charlie laughed and added, "I'm gonna go to a nice restaurant and say, 'Give me a Budweiser in a plastic cup!'"
As for Jason Bateman, who plays Nick Hendricks, he has been sober for many years, so what does he order when he goes out?
"If you can believe it, I'm a big water fan. Flat. The sparkling upsets my tummy," he told the publication.
With more than one Jason on set, the cast revealed what nicknames have become popular to differentiate between them.
"I'm just Suds. People have called me that for years. People call you Bateman, right?" Sudeikis said.
Bateman replied, "Mastur-Bateman is always a real fun one."
"Really? You get that?" Sudeikis asked.
The Arrested Development actor simply said, "I get it a bit."
The trio also talked about their new film, which is a hilarious follow-up to their 2011 hit comedy, which also stars Jennifer Aniston, as Dr. Julia Harris, D.D.S., and Kevin Spacey, as Dave Harken.
When asked if there was a lot of improv during the film, they explained that there isn't as much as you'd think.
"There are shades and different colors on the same thing, but there's a pretty intricate plot. You can't go too far off the page," Day revealed.
"There's a certain amount of flexibility on the set when it comes to coming up with a funny final joke," Bateman added.
Sudeikis chimed, in saying, "Yeah — buttons, or the ways into scenes. Those can easily be trimmed. So it's not too masturbatory on our end."
The most interesting thing about this film could easily be what scene didn't make the cut.
"We talked about at one point being with Motherf--ker Jones and he says, 'You crackers got to go, I've got some other crackers coming in,'" Sudeikis explained to the publication. "And then the three Hangover guys come and sit in the booth."
Sadly, this scene didn't come to fruition because, according to Day, "No, we couldn't afford their quotes."
Sudeikis admitted that they did talk to Zach Galifianakis about it.
"I told Zach [Galifianakis] about it. He thought it was hilarious. I think I told Ed Helms about it, too. But it would take you out of [the movie]," he revealed.
