Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant together are enough to frighten any team, but with both stars off the court, the NBA had it easy — that was, until the New York Knicks suffered. The Oklahoma City Thunder welcomed him back as the Knicks were still without Carmelo Anthony, and he has a stunning game, leaving many fans of the belief that he's a more important player than Durant is. Rumors have constantly surrounded both of them and their futures — and despite their known friendship, could one of them leave in the near future? If so, which would the Thunder be best to lose?
Westbrook explained: "It was exciting, man. I'm just blessed to be able to go out and play the game I love to play, especially with my teammates. The crowd was great, the energy was high. So it was fun to be out there. The crowd helped me out. I'll fight through it. Just keep going and keep going, and hopefully, somebody calls a timeout."
Could the Thunder trade Westbrook? The Knicks would love a player of his caliber.
Coach Derek Fisher explained: "I think that's the way Russell plays no matter what the situation is. First game or 80th game, he's going to play with a lot of energy, intensity and passion. He was great tonight, but they were a better team than us tonight."
Durant is training and expected to return in the near future, but with constant trade and free agency rumors surrounding the duo, one can wonder if the Thunder only keeps one of them around, leaving the other free to find another team ...
