You have to hand it to Chris Rock – he is easily one of the funniest famous comedians around today. After delivering a stellar monologue on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago – yes, the one that mentioned 9/11 and the Boston Marathon bombings – the Top Five writer-director sat down with Today's Matt Lauer to discuss the new movie. During the sit-down, the comic congratulated the NBC morning show for being able to nab the Janay Rice interview following that infamous Ray Rice elevator scandal. He then joked that they will "show" Good Morning America (the ABC rival morning show), including host Robin Roberts, who had an onscreen battle with breast cancer just last year.

"Today show," Rock said after Lauer commended him on the film. "You guys are doing good! You got Ray Rice's wife on, man – you'll show Good Morning America! We got the wife on!"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lauer laughed off the comments, saying, "We should've gone to commercial about thirty seconds ago – too late, my bad!"

Well, instead of saying that maybe he should have just cut to commercial then, because Rock came back and went for the jugular... "We'll show you, Robin Roberts! Matt Lauer's gonna get sick next – watch!" Ouch...

Check out a portion of Rock's interview with Lauer below. And sorry, his comments about Roberts have been nixed from it. Whomp, whomp, whomp...

So, readers, what do you think about Rock's interview on Today? We're guessing the NBC crew (or, of course, the higher ups) deemed the Robin Roberts' comments too inappropriate to be added to their online content. Thoughts?

Top Five opens in theaters this coming Dec. 12. Check out the trailer for the film below.
